Intravenous Vitamin C

When battling chronic disease, FloridaWild Integrative Veterinary Center & Urgent Care empowers the body to help itself heal with many modalities, including high dose intravenous vitamin C therapy.

In 2008, National Institutes of Health published the following: High-dose injections of vitamin C, also known as ascorbate or ascorbic acid, reduced tumor weight and growth rate by about 50 percent in mouse models of brain, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers, researchers from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) report in the August 5, 2008, issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The researchers traced ascorbate’s anti-cancer effect to the formation of hydrogen peroxide in the extracellular fluid surrounding the tumors. Normal cells were unaffected.

Not only does intravenous vitamin C battle cancer, it also bolsters the immune system. Conventional treatment of cancer is to kill the cancer cells and all that surrounds them including healthy cells. Integrative treatment works to boost the immune system and give the body a chance to heal or slow growth of tumors. The most important aspect of this treatment is that the animal feels great.

FloridaWild also uses high dose vitamin C therapy for allergies, sepsis or infection and any other chronic disease in which the immune system is failing. By administering the vitamin C intravenously, it allows the plasma levels to reach high concentrations quickly to target the cancer cells and boost the immune system.
