Cindy grew up in Colorado, where in high school she was introduced to veterinary medicine and earned her veterinary assistant certification. Cindy moved to Florida in 1980 to continue her career in veterinary medicine. Her passion has always been with furry friends and their humans, and to also educate them. She is currently seeking her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager Certification (CVPM). Cindy has 26 plus years of veterinary experience, whether it is as a manager, technician, receptionist, or trainer.
Cindy joined the FloridaWild team in May of 2015, where she can further her education in eastern and western veterinary medicine, as well as rehabilitation. She has a great passion to see our patients improve and heal. You never know what you will be doing at FloridaWild each day. It is very exciting.
In her spare time she enjoys spending as much time on or near the water, as well as golf carting. She also loves spending time with her crew at home, Ryley, Shelby, Allie, Jessie, Taz, and 5 birds.
Kristin has been grooming for thirteen years. She began as a bather at PetSmart and from there she went to a grooming academy where she was certified as a pet stylist. The FloridaWild & Funky Mutt clients and pets love her! Kristin is very patient with her grooming, which is great because sometimes that includes grooming cats. Kristin said grooming cats is a great experience because her previous job did not have cat grooming as an option. “I think it’s really interesting here. I see a lot more types of dogs here than I would at a grooming salon.”
Kristin has two dogs, Louie and Benji, and a fish named Bubbles. Both Louie and Benji were rescues – “I’d never do anything but a rescue.” Louie loves dog parks and getting to see others whereas Benji is more reserved and a “less is more” kind of guy. Kristin’s soft spot is for older dogs. One day, her goal is to have a geriatric rescue.
Hannah was born in Georgia but did a lot of moving around when she married a military officer. Now she and her family are permanently in Florida. Hannah has her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Liberty University. Her passion and love for animals led her here. She has always had such an indescribable connection with animals. “Nonhuman animals can teach us humans SO MUCH! We just have to be patient and willing to listen and learn.”
At home, her babies mostly consists of felines – she affectionately calls them “The Pride.” One of her purring babies is actually from Indonesia! He went from dying on the streets of Indonesia as a sick and unwanted stray to living in a 5-star home in America.
Recently Hannah and her husband adopted a rescue puppy – they call him the “weird kitten.” “Rescuing an animal is such a blessing for both the rescuer and the rescued. Having worked with rescues in the past, you get to know the heart-wrenching truth behind the closed doors of “shelters.” Our country’s kill rate is unbelievably high – that is why I firmly believe more good comes out of rescuing than purchasing.” Hannah’s furry babies consists of death row rescues, strays and shelter rescues.
Over the past year and a half, Hannah has loved her time and experience here. “I feel like I found my dream job. I get to come to work knowing I work with some of the best in the veterinary industry. The compassion and desire to learn more is something I constantly admire about our veterinarians and team here at FloridaWild.”

Marie was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and just recently relocated to Deltona, Florida. Some of her fondest memories of Wyoming include working at her local animal shelter, finding forever homes for those she was lucky enough to care for: dogs, cats, pigs, and every animal in between.
Marie eventually earned her certification as a Professional Dog Trainer, and developed a passion for teaching group training classes; she looks forward to someday offering training classes to her new community! Marie believes her deep sense of compassion and respect, for all animals and humans alike, makes her a perfect fit for The Funky Mutt Market. Marie loves to spend her free time with her Bassett Hound, Frank, as well as her two beloved kitties, Mittz and Kitten; she’s also the fond caretaker of a Ball Python named Bo.
Vickie has started her new career here at The Funky Mutt Market. She is coming here after working over thirty years in retail. Justin was born and raised right here in sunny Central Florida. While Justin has had a love for, and has helped care for, animals all his life, joining the Funky Mutt team is his first official foray into the animal care industry. He has a certain affinity for the outdoors and nature in general, visiting the beach, hiking, and/or biking whenever the chance arises. Justin also enjoys building and making all sorts of things in his spare time – “a jack of all trades, a master of none,” if you will. He loves being able to help others, human or otherwise, in any way he can.
Kindness, patience (with yourself and others), and gratitude are some of the things that Justin strives for on a daily basis. He believes that part of healing the world we see outside of ourselves should start with first healing the world within ourselves, and practicing patience, having a greater sense of compassion for, and having a better understanding of our relationships to, animals (human or otherwise) is one of the things that can help us to achieve that.
Brittney is passionate, playful and personable with our Funky Mutt pals! She enjoys spending most of her time at work with her play date and boarding friends. Outside of work she is pursuing a degree in Zoology to help further her career with animals.
It’s been my dream since childhood to work with animals and I couldn’t be happier here.
Her passion for animals doesn’t just stop at work. At home Brittney has 3 cats, a baby bunny and rehabilitates squirrels to be released back in the wild.
